Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District

About Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District

For 50 years the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation district has served the community through its stewardship of parks and by providing recreational and cultural programs to islanders of all ages. Many of the recent Open space purchases have been transferred to the Park district, increasing the island's park inventory to over 1500 acres, over 90% of which is protected open space. The District is committed to providing a wide variety of leisure programs for all ages and interest groups including senior citizens and persons with disabilities. The recreation program is supported in a major way by user fees with class fees being subsidized by tax dollars. The District is abiding by federal, state, and local guidance to protect our staff and participants by preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our parks, programs, and facilities.
