About Natural Resources Defense Council

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is the nation's most effective environmental action organization. We use law, science and the support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our staff helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, and many of the implementing regulations; our water enforcement cases played a major role shaping current water policy throughout the country. Today, our staff of more than 500 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy and communications experts, and others, work out of offices in New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Bozeman, Montana, Beijing, and New Delhi

Reviews

Clean transportation INTERN

June 2022 - August 2022 San Francisco, CA
“I have learned so much about the process and behind the scenes of how policies are made. My motto has always been "it takes one person to make a difference", this was an experience I won't forget. I have learned that there is much more than the physical way of helping the environment such as cleaning up areas but rather finding policies that will result in a benefit for good and writing blogs to help express to the community a path we can take. In this internship I have seen how long it takes for things to be processed and it was a goal achieved in these 10 weeks.”
