Uganda Village Project

About Uganda Village Project

Uganda Village Project is a non-profit organization working with the people of Iganga District to promote public health and sustainable development in the rural communities of this marginalized district in southeast Uganda. Our grassroots approach allows us to work directly with community based organizations and local government to utilize local knowledge and maximize community ownership. We facilitate community health and well-being in rural Uganda through improved access, education, and prevention across five programs: malaria, HIV/AIDS and STIs, family planning, sanitation and hygiene, and obstetric fistula.

Reviews

Project Intern

May 2021 - August 2021 Iganga, Iganga
“I loved the flexibility of the program to allow our team to tailor our public health approach to the community we were working with. I learned so much from their teaching methods and felt really supported during the whole project. I think this program also helped me explore global health in a positive way and the whole program is set up to provide continued support to villages beyond the work of interns!”
