In 2013, our organization joined Easter Seals and its nationwide network of service providers. As such, our agency is now known as Easter Seals Midwest.
For 50 years, Easter Seals Midwest has been at the forefront of helping Missourians with disabilities and their families live better lives. From early childhood education and in-depth autism training, to job training and community living support, Easter Seals Midwest helps people with developmental disabilities and their families address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.
The resources available to us through Easter Seals and its affiliates across the country allow us to enhance our services, generate additional funding to better support our programs, and develop new programs and/or treatment strategies. In addition, the national network gives us an advantage with the federal government to promote public policy that expands services to unserved and under served individuals. All of this gives us the opportunity to both improve and expand our services for individuals with developmental disabilities in the communities we serve.
Life Skills (founded in 1964) and TouchPoint Autism Services (founded in 1971) merged in 2012, and in 2014, Triality (founded in 1975) joined the organization. Through the years, all three organizations have expanded services to meet the growing demands of their communities, and all three organizations have been known as leaders in the field, offering progressive and high-impact services. Our partnership helps us reach our strategic goal to support more individuals with developmental disabilities across Missouri.
The combined organization continues to fulfill the mission and vision of each individual agency, while working to meet the increased demand for services across the state. It is an exciting time for us to live into our mission: to help individuals with developmental disabilities — including autism — learn, live, work and participate in the community.
